Discovery and characterization of a new type of domain wall in a row-wise antiferromagnet

We investigate magnetic domain walls in a single fcc Mn layer on Re(0001) employing spin-polarized STM, atom manipulation, and spin dynamics simulations. The low symmetry of the row-wise antiferromagnetic (1Q) state leads to new type wall which connects rotational 1Q domains by transient 2Q with characteristic 90$^\circ$ angles between neighboring moments. properties depend their orientation width about 2 nm essentially results from balance Heisenberg higher-order exchange interactions. Atom manipulation allows imaging atomic spin-resolution, as well positioning, we demonstrate that force move an is anisotropic domain.
